I’m really enjoying issue number 4 of the Raconteur . It’s a literary magazine run by a couple of friends of mine. They call themselves a ‘little magazine’ but its little only in terms of its readership (so far) - it’s certainly not little when it comes to ambition. In fact when it comes to punching above their weight, in just four issues they’ve secured pieces by Alain de Boton, Rachel Tresize and Heathcote Williams. This issue has a close-as-close-gets piece about Jorge Luis Borges by Norman Thomas di Giovanni. Click the link above and get yourself a subscription - it’s only £17.49. And before I’m accused of being biased because they’ve published articles by me - there’s nothing by me in this issue.
